Operating Policy
GROUP CLASSES
Because of the small class size and our commitment to faculty based on registration, we enforce the following policy regarding payment, withdrawal and refunds:
- Payment must be made in full before entering the first class.
- A 10% discount is given for students who ‘bring a friend or co-worker’
- Refunds are given until 48 hours after the first class (minus hours taken).
- If a student withdraws prior to the 3rd class, the student can be given credit for a future term. We cannot give refunds or credit after the 3rd class.
- Students can ‘sit in’ on other classes (to replace missed classes) only when approved by the teacher/center.
- No ‘make-up’ classes, with the exception of holidays, teacher sick days & hurricane days. (Under some unique circumstances, we allow make-ups to be carried over to a subsequent term as long as the student enrolls in the subsequent term)
- Group class tuition CANNOT be transferred to private lessons
Transition Days/Weeks- During transition days/weeks, we will sometimes ‘replenish’ or add students (of the same level) into smaller groups. This should not cause any disruption to the class.
Homework – If students know they will be absent from future class, they should speak to the teacher
for homework assignments.
Certificates of Completion - Certificates (or other documents needed for corporate reimbursement) can be given upon request.
PRIVATE CLASSES
- Private classes are pre-paid in full for blocks of 12, 25 or 50 hours.
-
Private classes can be scheduled directly with the teacher. Teachers will be flexible to student’s schedules.
- Classes can be held in center, a café or in the student’s location.
- Minimum private class=1.5 hours.
- Student hours are subtracted from their total block as reported by teacher’s timesheets. Students will be notified when its time to renew.
- For cancelled classes, the teacher (or language center) must be notified at least 1 day prior to cancellation. With a 1 day prior notice, the student can reschedule without any loss of credit.
For same day cancellations, the student loses
1.5 credit hours.
- Requested refunds are given for unused hours within 60 days of the last class taken.
- Private class credit CAN be transferred to group classes.
